We often talk about speed, metrics, and KPIs in recruiting. But behind every vacancy is a person who knows how to listen, feel, and build trust. Our recruiting partner Anastasiia acts exactly like that. She came to recruiting from restaurant management, became passionate about sourcing, and today combines the depth of a psychologist with the precision of an analyst. Our conversation is about maturity in the profession, face-to-face meetings, balance, and why trust in the EvoTalents team changes everything.

Professional questions

Why did you choose recruiting as your direction of professional development? Where did your path begin?

— I worked in the restaurant industry for several years as a manager, I wanted to develop, and I studied psychology at the university in parallel. HR breakfasts were sometimes held in Lviv, I went, got inspired, signed up for mixed courses (HR+Recruitment), at that time they were still offline. Something unusual now. I became very interested in sourcing during the course, it was something completely different than I imagined. Everything has been going smoothly since then.

What do you like most about your work? Maybe the processes that give you the most pleasure?

— I love recruiting for the opportunity to connect with super different people in different professions and expand your horizons. Also in-depth interviews with both clients and candidates. Noticing moments that are not immediately obvious.

And what, on the contrary, becomes the biggest challenge for you?

— For me, it’s about enduring uncertainty and not trying to keep everything under complete control. There are many “gray areas” in recruiting: business priorities change, a candidate changes his mind, the market doesn’t behave as planned. I’m a person who likes structure and clear steps, but recruiting constantly reminds me that there is no perfect plan. It’s about being an adult for me: learning to accept that I can influence the process, but not everything, and letting go of what’s beyond my responsibility.

How did you meet EvoTalents? At what point did you feel that it was a match?

— I met them through courses and webinars, this year I thought that I needed to move forward in my career, and the agency was the perfect challenge for that.

What can you highlight as the coolest/most valuable thing about working with EvoTalents during this time?

— The most valuable thing for me is trust. When you are given a responsibility area and there is no micromanagement, but the team is always there if you need support. Colleagues with whom you can discuss cases, share chats, consult and constantly develop. This creates a feeling that you are not just closing vacancies, but developing together with the team and creating value.

What qualities do you value in colleagues? Why?

— I really value openness, the ability to transfer or share responsibility when necessary. I would especially highlight the point about curiosity to explore new things and share this.

Do you have fuckups? Can you share what it taught you?

— Of course, you can't do without them. Fuckups are always about growth. For some reason, the phrase "Colleagues, for the future..." and heart in heels always come to mind, it's funny, but it happens to everyone, it's experience.

How do you think IT recruiting is different when you first started out from what it is now?

— When I started out, it was still the era of “candidates are worth their weight in gold”. Now the market is much more mature and tough. Recruiters are no longer just “looking for people”, but work at the intersection of analytics, marketing, HR and sales. It’s more difficult, but also more interesting.

What professional goals do you currently have for yourself? Where would you like to move in the next year?

— I’m interested in moving towards a role that combines recruiting, consulting and coaching. I want to get a coaching certification next year. Also, build deep relationships with clients and immerse myself in the process.

What advice would you give to those who would also like to develop in this area of activity?

— Probably don’t come to recruiting “just for the sake of conversations”. In short, it's about adult responsibility: to the business, to the candidates, and to yourself. I would single out: developing deep listening, thinking long-term, and developing curiosity.

Personal questions

Tell about yourself: what are your hobbies, dreams, personal goals?

— Traveling, especially in the “like a local” format, I love skiing. I love documentaries, trucriy, I’m a fan of complex board games. I’m also very passionate about everything related to design, fashion, upcycling, etc. I’m moving to a new house soon, so I’ll be realizing my creative potential and inspiration. Another goal is to travel to different countries for pet sitting, I think it should be interesting.

What does your typical day look like, considering remote work?

— I always try to plan my day in advance. I create a list of tasks for the next day, it helps me relieve stress, relax and get ready for rest. Therefore, preparation is always in the evening, in the morning I have breakfast, usually work for 1-2 hours, take a break for sports or a walk, then I make calls, have lunch and finish all the tasks I have planned, plan the next day and go to rest. I like to arrange for myself one day a week without calls.

Do you manage to maintain a work/life balance? What is your secret?

— Living so that work does not eat up your whole life, sometimes balance is a myth. There are periods when work wins, and there are moments when I consciously slow down.

  • I learn to say no when something comes into my personal time or contradicts my resources.
  • Physical activity and taking care of my condition during the day.
  • My own little rituals. Tea, a book, a TV series or just lighting incense to set the focus.

Anastasiia reminds us: recruiting is not only about finding people, but about developing yourself. It's about staying curious, embracing uncertainty, and growing with the team. And it's this inner maturity that shapes the EvoTalents culture - where every recruiter doesn't just fill vacancies, but creates an environment where people want to work. That’s what makes EvoTalents an IT Recruitment Agency that goes beyond transactions — and builds real partnerships.
