Professional questions

Tell us how recruiting came into your life? Why did you decide to develop in it?

— Honestly, at first I was considering design for myself :) I even managed to master a small course. My friends already worked in IT as developers — we used to discuss work issues, including interviews and communication in teams. I knew right away that this was a match. It went on and on — and here I am, talking about the same interviews, though from a slightly different perspective.

What drives you the most about this job? Why?

— Opportunities for endless expertise and feedback — from the team, clients, candidates. And how great it is when they not only thank you for the support or for the positive mood after the calls, but also share their experience + add photos! For example: "an architect and a team lead on a small but vital project" [quote] - the guys gathered to patch the roof of one of the Odesa playgrounds. Wow! Vitality is inspiring.

How did you get to know EvoTalents? At what point did you feel that this was a match?

— I came across posts about EvoTalents courses in recruitment chats :) I felt something when was going through the selection process. I was convinced when I started working with the team. Somewhere on LinkedIn I came across a post that sounded like "it's really cool to feel like part of a space where you can be smart, funny, ridiculously smart - and that's OK". It resonates a lot.

What can you highlight as the coolest/most valuable thing about working with EvoTalents during this time?

— Communication! Easy and transparent. It is interesting and challenging to work, because as an agency we cooperate with clients from different domains. In addition, learning opportunities, thanks to EvoTalents.School, and not only, which actually contributes to professional development.

What qualities do you value in colleagues? Why?

— Sincerity, sharing of experience, willingness to help — something that I try to give myself, and what I value in others.

Do you have fuckups? Can you share what it taught you?

—It was banal, I forgot to set the "open" status for the call in Google Meet. 10 minutes pass, the client warns that there is still no one on the line, I ping the candidate, and he is in the waiting room :) Or, I remember, I sent an email in Ukrainian to a British client. Fuckups add experience and a little more humanity to the work processes. If so, I admit a mistake, react easily with humor, if the level of communication allows, and promptly correct it.

What professional goals do you currently set? Where would you like to move this year?

— I plan to complete a course in sourcing from EvoTalents.School, later — take a new one from AI in recruiting. And also — I want to attract more C-level vacancies to work.

What challenges have you had recently? How did you manage to cope with them?

— From the newest: the client forgot to warn me about his day off on the day when the tech interview was scheduled. I joined the call, informally chatted with the candidate about Swedish lag and his experience of working with colleagues, who were already completing all work issues by 2:00 PM. We agreed to postpone the meeting, agreed on a new convenient time, and kept a positive tone.

What are the specifics of recruiting that you can highlight when working specifically with the IT sector?

— High requirements for both hard and soft skills of candidates. Especially in product companies that pay significant attention to the culture fit aspect, which makes sense. And, of course, in IT, the recruiter's understanding of the technical side of the coin plays a role: who is responsible for what, the relevance of technologies, the stack, etc.

What advice would you give to those who would also like to develop in trecruitment?

— Grabbing all the opportunities that life throws up is extremely important. Noticing them is even more important. Also, understanding that recruiting is not about being a pushover. It is a super interesting, but complex process that requires structure, analytics, and a systematic approach (and lots of notes. Everywhere :)

Personal questions

Tell us about yourself: what are your hobbies, dreams, personal goals?

— I love taking photos and filming, learning languages, poetry. Nature, traveling, new activities: hiking, tennis of any size, fencing. I love puzzles, I dream of a peaceful, bright existence and finally jumping with a parachute! From personal goals — to study, improve French and master the piano.

What does your typical day look like, considering remote work?

— I start my morning with breakfast with Friends. Then I get into the work routine: interviews, syncups, LinkedIn, reports and a bunch of other different tasks that no one even knows about. Somewhere in between I have a coffee break, either outside or at home. In the evening I close my laptop and cook dinner with music, go to chat with my family, go for a walk and stretch, which is very important for all of us with sedentary weekdays (+I found a horizontal bar in the area - I'm learning to pull up!).

Do you manage to maintain a work/life balance? What's your secret?

— I love my job — I'll come here on Saturday :) It's not always possible to switch to "rest" from LinkedIn and Slack 100%, but it's cool when what you do really brings pleasure, regardless of the day of the week. I'm a gambler at work. The secret is to remind myself that life has a lot of other cool aspects, so I keep my balance and escape to taste new cuisine for myself and soak up the sun.

This conversation is like a quick stop between calls, reports, and vacancies. A reminder that recruiting is not just about people at work, but also about people in life.
