Our client is an early-stage robotics startup based in Madrid, building a validation and simulation platform for autonomous systems. The platform starts with warehouse robots and expands to ground robots, drones and autonomous vehicles. Its core promise is determinism: when the inputs don't change, the outputs don't change either. This lets robotics teams prove that only their changes, and nothing else, affect how the robot behaves.
This is a founding role: you'll join a small, flat team with no bureaucracy at the moment the company is breaking through.
What you'll do:
- Connect real robots and customers' robotics stacks (ROS-based or fully custom) to the simulation and validation platform
- Keep simulation results deterministic and reproducible across runs, machines and environments
- Build and extend simulation of sensors such as LiDAR and cameras for specific customer needs
- Contribute across the board: discuss architecture, talk to potential customers, pick up whatever moves the product forward
Must have:
- Strong C/C++ as your main language
- Hands-on embedded experience, working as close to the hardware as possible while staying in software
- Background in robotics: you've worked with real robots or autonomous systems
- Around 5 years of experience (strong candidates with 3-4 years are welcome)
- Clear communication in English and natural curiosity: you like to dig deep, not stay at a high level
Nice to have:
- ROS / ROS2 (not required, since many customers use custom stacks)
- Python
- Experience with simulators (Gazebo, MuJoCo, Isaac Sim or similar) or sim-to-real work
- Sensor integration or sensor simulation (LiDAR, camera, IMU)
