Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior VoIP Engineer to join our team as a consultant. This individual will play a key role in developing a state-of-the-art VoIP softswitch platform, targeting both class 4 and class 5 services. The goal is to create a robust, scalable system with a modern UI/UX, comprehensive billing functionalities, and an excellent API that stands out in the current market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop VoIP systems from scratch, specifically for class 4 and/or class 5 services.
- Ensure thorough understanding and implementation of VoIP protocols.
- Architect and deploy solutions on Linux servers independently.
- Design database architectures suitable for high-scalability VoIP applications, with proficiency in MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.
- Develop and maintain APIs (RESTful), and document these using Swagger.
- Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for system reliability.
- Write unit tests to ensure code reliability and functionality.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with VoIP technologies such as Asterisk, Kamailio, and Freeswitch.
- Expertise in Linux server management and configurations.
- Knowledge of various database architectures and the ability to select the appropriate database type for projects.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of DevOps practices.
- Experience with VoIP billing and management platforms like Magnus Billing, A2Billing, FreePBX is a plus.
- Experience with MOR, M4 (Kolmisoft) will be considered a significant advantage.
Desirable Qualities:
- Ability to integrate various features such as CDR, ASR/ACD, call recordings, autodialer, DID, SMS, IVR, routing, etc.
- Capability to perform quick migration functionalities from other popular VoIP systems to facilitate easy client transitions.
Project Goals:
- Develop a VoIP softswitch for licensing on a monthly subscription basis, incorporating the best features of existing systems such as A2Billing, MOR & M4 (Kolmisoft), PortaOne, and others.
- Design a user-friendly and modern UI/UX.
- Ensure the platform can scale easily despite being a class 5 system, aiming for maximum operational efficiency.
